Petrina Scaglione, New Teacher. Petrina has been a part of the Buffalo State English Education community for the past five years.  She earned her BS in 2016 and is current working on completing her MSED, where she is focusing on inquiry-based approaches to teaching the English language arts. During her undergraduate studies she observed in classrooms across Western New York and completed her student teaching with Kristen Pastore-Capuana at Cheektowaga Central and Shannon Burke at Elmwood Village Charter School.  Petrina is a 2016 recipient of the Bard-Cappella Academic Award for Applied Literacy. After completing her BS at Buffalo State, she worked as an Instructional assistant in ELA and Math at Elmwood Village Charter School.  Petrina currently teaches 7th grade ELA  at Maritime Charter Middle School.
