Kevin Starr. Kevin Starr earned his BS in English Education from Buffalo State in 1979. That fall he began teaching English at Amherst Central High School. For the next several years, he taught at various local schools in Western New York. He joined the English department at Clarence High School in 1989, where he worked until he retired in 2018. He began working as an adjunct instructor at Buffalo State in 2019 where he serves as a Student Teacher Supervisor and an instructor in the College Writing Program. Kevin has received numerous awards, including Educator of the Year from Canisius College's chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (2002), Educator of Excellence from the New York State English Council, as well as Educator of the Week (2005), from WGRZ-TV. He has also been inducted into the New York State Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame for his many years coaching boys and girls volleyball. He has been married to Mary since 1979. The couple have three children and 6 grandchildren.
